The Australian team started off the Australian Youth Olympic Festival competition in fine fashion when Ethan Warren and Jesse Carver won a silver medal in the Boys 3m synchro event on day one.  Earlier in the day Ethan just missed out on the individual 3m bronze medal with Jesse coming in fifth.

Day 2 brought success in the Girls 3m springboard when Hayley Taeuber placed third behind the two Chinese competitors and Rhiannan Iffland came in fourth.

Ethan then had a brilliant platform competition splitting the Chinese divers four dives from the end. He was only beaten into third when Su Huian nailed his 5253B for 8.5s and 9.0s to overtake him on the last dive.

Hayley and Rhiannan capped off a good day by securing the bronze in the Girls 3m synchro.

The last day brought more success for the Australian team when Jesse and Darcy Taylor combined to dive in the platform synchro.  They managed to find 5 dives they could do together, including a 612B, and won the bronze medal.

Ethan brought the crowd to its feet during the platform knockout competition when he continually avoided elimination right to the last round.  It was a great performance.
